The second oldest of six kids, Mike Williams felt compelled to help his mother provide for his siblings. The easiest way he knew to make money was to sell drugs on the streets of his neighborhood. At age 16, Mike knew the choice was wrong; but he believed it was necessary for his family’s survival.
Incarcerated twice for dealing drugs and once for assault, Mike was deemed a "flight risk" by officers at a residential facility for juvenile offenders. At 17, he transferred to a residential treatment program, where he received therapy, tutoring and substance abuse education. |
