Volunteers of America's public policy advocacy stems from the belief that we have an obligation to serve as the voice for the residents of our housing and those people who are assisted by our human services programs. To accomplish our goal of promoting social justice, our national staff works closely with board members, local office presidents and many other local staff. In advocacy, our credibility at the federal, state and local levels is based on the strength of our housing and services — we understand what works and how to replicate it successfully.
